space.jpg (29022 bytes)Remember the time when Lemy & Rascal blasted off into space on their grand adventure. Well, this new four-part series is a continuation of that time and takes the mischevious pair to the planet Mortac where they meet the evil muck monsters and Mr Weasel. They also try to rescue a pair of lovely two-tailed blue foxes from being sold off to the Mortac Space zoo. As usual, Lemy & Rascal will get into all kinds of trouble, which you (the reader) can help them get out of.

Here then, is part 1. - The Space Ride

Lemy & Rascal had been travelling for days in their spacecraft. According to their charts, the first of the unexplored planets was to be found in the next universe.

"I wonder if we'll ever see earth again," thought Lemy aloud.

"Why?" "Don't tell me you miss our planet already? We've only just been away for 10 days!" said Rascal.

"And what's wrong with these special powdered eggs that I brought along? Not tasty enough?" asked Rascal.

"They're ok," said Lemy "But just once, I'd like some real soft and munchy eggs. Us Lemurs can't live too long without real eggs you know..."

lemy_3.gif (13607 bytes)"That's rubbish!" said Rascal, sticking his tongue out at Lemy. "Most Lemurs I've come across don't even eat eggs except once a year."

"Oh Yeah??!!!" replied Lemy angrily.

"Take that!" he said, as he threw a plateful of powdered egg at Rascal.

"Why you...... take this then!" And he dumped a bowl of cold noodles on Lemy's head (you didn't know that Raccoons eat noodles? Well, now you know! - editor)

Before long, the two friends were fighting with each other; not enough to hurt one another, but enough to make a whole mess of the ship's interior.

After 5 minutes, both Lemy & Rascal collapsed, exhausted from all that throwing and shouting.

"Whew!" said Lemy. "Do you remember what we were fighting about?"

"Nope," replied Rascal, "I can't even remember what we had for breakfast today."lemy_5.gif (17082 bytes)

"Hey," said Rascal suddenly, "What's that?"

They both looked out the window and saw a huge planet next to them.

"That's...Mortac, if my chart is correct." said Rascal at last.

The planet was red with pink stripes and it looked as if there was some civilization below.

"Prepare for landing, Mr Lemy!" said Rascal.

"Aye, aye Captain!" Lemy replied.

"Err...just how do you land this thing anyway?"

"Oops!" said Rascal. "I knew we forgot something."

lemy_6.gif (12400 bytes)Indeed they had, for although the ship had landing gear, they didn't have the control buttons to bring the gear down again. It had only been used once, to bring up the landing gear when they left earth. But now, it looked as if they would have no choice but to crash land.

"Brace yourself," said Rascal "This is going to be a tough one."

"OK", said Lemy "But what's the meaning of 'brace'?"

lemy_7.gif (22318 bytes)"JUST HANG ON TIGHT TO SOMETHING, OK?" shouted Rascal as their ship went hurling into the planet's atmosphere.

"Hope we make it" shouted Lemy over the noise of the craft.

"I hope so too!" replied Rascal.
