| Suddenly, the whole area was flooded with a bright
light! | ||

Everyone looked up into the sky, not knowing what to
expect. The light was almost blinding, and a little frightening.
Raiee and Lemu were the first to realise what was happening. They had seen such a ligt before, and knew that their message had been received. It was SuperTrain! The bright and piercing* light that shot out from the sky, came from the TrainStar - that huge square-shaped spacecraft that Lemy and Rascal had first seen in their adventures at Martoc. SuperTrain had come to their rescue at last!" Ha!" said Lemy to the terrified rats, "SuperTrain is here! Now, let's see how you deal with this guy!" | |
| The swamp rats, being bullies mostly, were
unsure of their next move. Would they want to wait until that strange
being called SuperTrain came down? Or should they just run for their
lives?
The biggest rat - the huge 50 metre tall one called "Bully" decided the matter very quickly for the swamp rats - he took one look at what was "beaming" down to the earth, and he turned and ran. All the other rats followed his cue** and ran off quickly too. | ||

Within a very short while, the whole desert floor was empty, as the rats made a very fast getaway. Raiee and Lemu rushed to SuperTrain & greeted him while Rascal and Lemy looked on from a little way off. They still weren't sure about whether SuperTrain was the friendly sort, and they were slightly worried...but only just a little bit. Afterall, SuperTrain did come and rescue them! "Hmmm...I wonder what that SuperTrain really looks like?" asked Rascal. "Probably quite scary....although he's also probably nice too," replied Lemy. "Let's go and find out!" |

As the
stripey pair made their way to where Lemu and Raiee were, they realised
that SuperTrain was a little difficult to make out because of the glaring
light that was shining down on him from the spacecraft above.
Raiee brought the two of them closer to SuperTrain, and whispered to them - "Don't worry about how he looks, because....that's just how he looks." she said. Lemy was not too sure about meeting this strange half man-half machine being, and politely shook the outstretched hand offered to him. |

| "Yeeeeowwww!!" shouted Lemy suddenly. "Your hand's made
of.....of....metal"
"But of course," replied SuperTrain speaking to them for the first time. I usually go about in the form of a train afterall, and I'm not really human either. "You're a shape-shifter!"*** said Rascal finally, as he too, shook the hands of their rescuer. |

Some new words to learn this week:
* piercing - something (in this case, light)
which seems to cut through everything else. So this means
that the light was very bright.
** cue - to follow and do what the leader (or in this case, the biggest
rat) does.
*** shape-shifter - a being that can change its shape whenever it needs to -
but this sort of creature
normally doesn't exist in really life.
