| PART 1 - The Distress Call |

| Right after getting rid of Mr Weasel, there was peace again on the little island, as everyone got on with their lives. |  Start Here |
Lemy went about organising the others - the lemurs, raccoons and foxes who had come to call the island "home". In the meantime, Rascal toyed with the idea of expanding their spacecraft, and then stopped because of the sheer number of characters they would have to include in the ship.
"Lemy," Rascal said "One day, we may need to leave the island in a hurry, if Mr Weasel comes - how are we ever going to fit everybody in the spacecraft we have?"
| "Don't
worry my furry friend," replied Lemy. "Before that day comes, I will have
invented a special shrinking machine so that we will be able to shrink
everyone else and bring them aboard the new ship that'll I'll be
creating!"
"New ship??!!" questioned Rascal. "What's wrong with the one we already have?" "Well.....actually, I was thinking that the present ship we have looks kinda old fashioned..." "OLD FASHIONED!!!" screamed Rascal. "I'll have you know that it's the best little ship in the whole world!" Rascal picked up his plate of hard-boiled eggs and prepared to pelt* Lemy with them. |

However, before they could take their argument further, they were
interrupted by Dasher and Ranger, two of the red foxes who were on duty at
the Communications Hut**
"Lemy! Rascal!" they called out as they rushed to where the stripey pair were. What's the problem?" asked Rascal anxiously "We received a special message on the signal set - another Lemur & Raccoon are in trouble, and they're asking for your help urgently!!" |
| "Who are they?? And
why did they call for us??" asked Lemy suspiciously.
"They called themselves Lemu and Raiee - sounded real ladylike too" replied Dasher excitedly. "They said they knew you guys, and they need help because the Swamp-Rat gang are after them." Lemy and Rascal looked at each other - they knew who Lemu and Raiee were of course, from the time they were at the planet Martoc. "Looks like a serious situation - wonder who the Swamp-Rats are? Never heard of THEM before!" said Rascal. "Well, there's no time to lose" responded Lemy grabbing Rascal by the arm, "we've got to rescue them!" |

Strapping on their jet-packs and leaving Ranger in-charge of the rest, Lemy & Rascal flew off south, according to the map co-ordinates*** that Lemoo had given the foxes. It didn't take them very long to reach their destination even though it was miles away, because they used the super-boosters in the jet-packs. As soon as they landed, they spotted two rats standing at the entrance of a cave, and looking very fierce.

Suddenly, Lemy &
Rascal came face-to-face with 6 mean looking rats - all growling at them,
and looking very fierce.
Lemy was angry with himself because he hadn't brought any of his grenades to toss at them. "If it's a fight you want," he said bravely, "then it's a fight you'll get!" And with that, the stripey pair got ready to defend themselves against the Swamp-Rat gang. |

* pelt - normally, this word refers to animal
fur or skin, but it also means 'to hit' by throwing something at an object -
in this case,
it's
Lemy.
** Communications Hut - A small area - like
a tent, that hold equipment - like Signal sets, radar equipment etc.
*** co-ordinates - extra troops or people or things that one can call on.
