A fairly large crowd
gathered to watch this extraordinary*(1) race.
Masher and Basher got themselves ready to run, confident that they could beat ST Fox. Although they were stunned earlier by the magix powers of ST Fox, they were nevertheless sure that Billy would come up with a plan to help them win unfairly. |
| The Kanga twins were right
because Billy was far from being sorry.
Just as someone flagged them off, Billy picked up a fairly large stone and threw it at ST Fox. |

Unfortunately for Masher, the bulldog's aim was poor and the stone struck the kangaroo on the head. Masher was totally knocked out and when Billy saw what he had done, he quickly scrambled away before ST Fox could come at him. |  |
| The race had to go
on however, and now it was only ST Fox against Basher.
The minute they were flagged off, ST Fox zoomed off so quickly that all anybody could see was a fast-moving image that whizzed past them. Basher hopped as fast as he could but just wasn't fast enough. |

As ST Fox came tearing
round the bend*(2), he suddenly stopped and turned back to look at Basher
hopping along.
"Come on, you slow poke! Let's see how fast you really are." he shouted. And then, to everyone's amazement, ST Fox simply stood there and waited for Basher to catch up. |
| As Basher came round the corner, all eyes were on ST Fox - to see if he would start running again. But the fox just stood there waiting patiently, looking a little bored. | |

| Nobody noticed Billy
sneaking back among the crowds. Nobody saw Billy picking up a larger rock and... Nobody saw him take aim at ST Fox. |

Nobody?
Well, not quite. |

Lemy and Rascal were very alert, and as the bulldog lifted the rock above his head, they pounced on him.
"Arggghhh....get off my head" shouted Billy, drawing the attention of everyone there. Billy was so agitated*(3) that he dropped the rock...right on his own foot. His howls of pain were enough to shake the ground and Billy slowly limped away. Everyone turned back to the field to see how the race was progressing and they were all amazed at what they saw. ST Fox was hopping along - neck to neck with Basher. The only difference between the two was that ST looked as if he was having fun while Basher was already very tired at having to hop at such a quick pace. With just a hundred meters to go, ST Fox increased the length of his jumps and easily made it past the finishing line ahead of Basher. He then turned to the kangaroo and said, "Well, I beat you fair and square... so now its time for you bullies to quit." | ||

Basher was exhausted and
Masher soon joined his brother at the spot where ST Fox was.
Everyone that is, except Billy, who quietly made his way back to class His bullying days were over. At least for the time being.. |
