Lemy and Rascal knew that they were being closely watched.

They feared that if they turned around, they would see the creatures that were hiding there in the dark.

"Psst...Rascal" said Lemy trying to look very casual. "When I give the signal, we'll both run, OK?"

"What's the signal? asked Rascal.

"Let me count to 3 slowly and then we'll run, OK?" responded Lemy.

The two of them continued to walk, and then Lemy started the countdown.

"one......two......" said Lemy slowly.


Z O O M !


Rascal ran off with a little giggle, leaving the lemur behind.

"WAIT!!!" shouted Lemy running after his friend.

They both had a bad case of the giggles and were laughing as they ran away from the rocks where all the eyes were. Even in the face of danger, they were still very playful.

"You terrible raccoon...." said Lemy good naturedly. "You left me behind!"

Before Rascal could reply, they both heard the heavy thundering sound of feet coming from behind them - they were being chased by huge.....erm.....CHICKENS!

Running as quickly as they could, the stripy pair headed straight for the ships.

"Get the ships ready!!" yelled Rascal into their communicator. "We've got a BIG emergency!"

Ranger picked up the message on his communicator and quickly told all the other animals to make their way to the ships, which were, by now, already repaired.

They were now quite used to scrambling away quickly and within minutes, everyone had been evacuated into the two ships.

Ranger tried to contact Lemy and Rascal over the radio, but all he could hear was the sound of panting and puffing.
Looking out from the space ships, everyone could see Lemy and Rascal dashing towards them, followed closely behind by 5 large chickens.

It was a good thing that the two of them were such good runners.

As they boarded the ships, the chickens stopped their pursuit and hung around the place pecking away at the metal parts of the ships.

"Look" said Lemy. "The Dodo chicks are with them"

Everyone looked and true enough, the other Dodo chicks were hiding behind the huge chickens. It was apparent that the Dodo chicks had decided to stay with the chickens.

The chickens seemed to be protecting the Dodos, and were attacking the other animals probably because foxes, lemurs and raccoons are natural enemies of birds. So, taking advantage of their size, the strange chickens were trying to make sure that they got rid of Lemy, Rascal and the others.

The chickens continued to peck at the ship and were beginning to cause serious damage.

The animals decided that they had to leave and fly off, or risk being stranded permanently on this planet. As the ship's engines kicked into action, they were slowly lifted off the ground.

"Goodbye Dodo chicks" waved Lemy and Rascal fondly. They now only had one chick left, perched snugly on Lemy's head, as they continued their journey into the unknown.
