A big "Thank You" to those who tried to guess the name of the bird that emerged from the egg. For the records, only Emmi Boo got the answer correct - a Dodo. Well done, Emmi.
Lemy & Rascal spent quite a bit of time explaining to everybody what a dodo bird was and that it was thought to have been extinct...until this batch of eggs hatched.

So that was why it was necessary to keep the eggs safe and protected despite everyone being so hungry, explained the stripy pair.

 All the animals understood why the dodo was special, and they decided to help Rascal make up a replacement meal of powdered eggs instead.

Soon, everyone was feasting on the dish that Rascal had whipped together.

The dodo chicks were now safe.

 After lunch, Lemy and Rascal met with some of the senior animals for a discussion. (they met the foxes mainly - because the other animals like the lemurs and raccoons were already represented by our stripy pair)
They explained that the dodo chicks would have to be returned to the island where the eggs were originally found. This would ensure that the chicks would grow up and that soon, the dodo would no longer be considered extinct. Lemy and Rascal felt sure that there were other dodos - adults - on the island where Alexander Fox was. They would have to return to earth so that the chicks would be   looked after by others of the same species.

"This would be a great chance," said Lemy. "To let the world know that the dodo birds are still alive."

"I only hope that by doing so, we won't have all kinds of crazy hunters coming after them again." replied the wise raccoon.

Rascal was thankful that Alexander Fox's island was also unknown to the rest of the world. However, he was still a little uneasy because someone could accidently find the island - just like they themselves had done.

BOOM! CRASH!

All discussion on the dodo chicks came to a quick end when a meteor shower came past the two ships and struck them!

Everyone was flung across the entire room and they tried their best to hang on.

 

Both ships were damaged and headed downwards.

Rascal checked the computers and gave his instructions. They would have to prepare for an emergency landing.
